FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ROCKVILLE, MD (May 23, 2006)   - - TeleContinuity, Inc announced today that in support of National Hurricane Preparedness Week, its rapidly deployable and survivable voice network has been upgraded to support the additional customers anticipated for this predicted worse than normal hurricane season.  TeleContinuity’s Survivable Voice Network support is critical for government agencies and businesses that must maintain maximum telephone continuity during disasters and evacuations.

The 2005 hurricane season’s Gulf storms cut off telephone communications for more than 3 million people and caused 214 million phone calls to be blocked – many critical calls from important government agencies and vital business enterprises.  For 2006, NOAA is “predicting 8 to 10 hurricanes with 4 to 6 becoming major Category 3 or higher and having a high potential for hitting the U.S. coastline.”

TeleContinuity’s Survivable Voice Network has been upgraded across the country to support increased peak call volumes over both PSTN and VoIP devices during this storm season.  In addition, the company has implemented several significant user enhancements such as backup voice mail, advanced system administration and a simplified user experience.

For states along the Eastern and Gulf Coasts, TeleContinuity offers survivable backup telephone service that has the ability to redirect and reroute calls over any surviving network and even move telephone numbers from damaged or destroyed central offices to operating switches in protected locations – restoring telephone communications with the original numbers.  TeleContinuity can reroute calls to users at new locations and on whatever devices are still working (landline phones, cell phones, IP phones, laptops, PCs or PDAs) and TeleContinuity can be activated within minutes of a disaster.  TeleContinuity works in conjunction with major telephone carriers.

TeleContinuity can even provide originating central office redirection, giving its customers the ultimate survivable backup voice solution.  “It is simply not enough to have a resilient infrastructure” said Roy Pinchot, CEO, “Organizations must make their infrastructure truly survivable to support weeks if not months of operations during outage conditions.  Planning for this situation is very different than the traditional planning that has occurred within COOP and BCP organizations.”

Max Mayfield, director of NOAA’s Hurricane Center in Miami, discussing this upcoming storm season warned, “the crucial message for every person is the same: Prepare, Prepare, Prepare! This very active period for major hurricanes may continue for 10 to 20 years.”
